Panama is an international business center and is also a transit country. It is the second most industrialized country in Central America, behind El Salvador. Although Panama has the 3rd largest economy in Central America, after Guatemala and Costa Rica, it has the most developed economy in the region.
Because of the Panama Canal, commerce, culture, and other infrastructure, Panama has enjoyed the most stable economy in Central America over the past 40 years. |
